My Mission

No rental cars, no expensive tour companies, no fancy cameras, just a medley of trains, overnight buses, bicycle rentals, loooong walks, and occasional adventures in hitchhiking.

The goal is simply to locate, identify, and learn about as many bird species I can while treading as lightly as possible on this beautiful planet. Just me, my binoculars, a few dollars, and a good pair of boots...

Talking to as many local people as possible, sharing my binoculars with anyone who will take them, and occasionally stopping to visit or volunteer at a local school.
